THE FUTURE OF CROYDON CENTRAL
Significant progress has been made to transform Croydon Central into a contemporary and vibrant retail and community hub with new fresh food, services, retail, and dining open and trading in early 2020.
We’re excited to reveal the full centre plan, including:
ALDI’s new location in the main centre, ensuring more convenient access for your grocery needs.
New dining precinct, The Grove, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options across café, Japanese, Chinese and other delicious cuisines.
New fresh food stores including greengrocer and butcher.
New services including childcare centre, medical centre and gym.
Permanent locations of your familiar favourites, Supa Bargains, Who Framed Hong and Papillon Fine Jewellery.
Plus, many more new stores and services to come.
In conjunction with the centre’s transformation, we’ll have a fresh new brand to mark the new future of Croydon Central. Here’s a sneak peek.
CAR PARKING CHANGES
The demolition stage of the development is now complete and the building stage is well and truly underway including underground works. As a result, parking along Kent Avenue to the west of the grass lawn will be closed off as at 13 March 2019.
All other parking areas will be available for your convenience, and the Kent Avenue entrances/exits next to the bus stop and ALDI will remain open, in addition to the Wicklow Avenue entrance/exit.
Additional parking will be made available upon completion of the project.
Demolition has commenced, with the former upper mall and undercover car park area being demolished to make way for the revitalised Croydon Central.
New stores and amenities will include fresh food and dining, essential services, relocated ALDI into the main centre building, an upgraded children’s play area and parent’s amenities.
WORK IS UNDERWAY
We’re excited to announce work is underway to transform Croydon Central into a contemporary and vibrant retail and community hub. Major works will commence in October 2018, with the revitalised centre open and trading in time for Christmas 2019.
We’re working to offer more choice and convenience for our customers, and cement Croydon Central as the local destination for convenient and easy shopping.
The redevelopment will provide the Croydon and greater Maroondah community with an exciting new Market Food Hall designed to offer customers a range of fresh food and dining experiences and a fabulous mix of essential services including a new childcare centre, gym, medical centre, and upgraded children's play area. In addition, 20 luxury terrace homes will be constructed on Toorak Avenue, featuring four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two car garages, alfresco dining and optional personal lifts for each terrace.
The great news is the majority of stores will remain open for business during construction, including your favourites like ALDI, Coles and Priceline Pharmacy.
